Stock Market Update: March 2019

As of the end of March, the indicators are looking pretty good and are eking above their 30 week moving averages.

Some caution should be taken at this point, because we are not yet in a full upward trend. The 30 week moving average is sloping down, we want it to be upward.

CNN's fear and greed  indicator is at neutral.

Stock Market Update: March 1, 2019

It appears we are out of the last correction. All the indicators are above their markers. The CNN Greed and Fear is back in the green zone.

In the news this week, Amazon is going to offer once a week shipping for it's prime members. I'm not sure how this is going to work, I thought one of the perks of being a prime member was the 2 day shipping. Should be interesting.

SpaceX Dragon docks with the international space station.

Stock Market Update: Week ending Feb 1 2019

The market is showing signs of improvement. The indicators are mixed. The major indexes are just below their 30 week moving averages.

Are we in a 'bull trap'?

Could be. Sven Henrick makes a compelling case we are in a situation mirroring that of 2007.

If you look at the 10 week moving average and compare it to the 30 week moving average, we are not out of the woods yet.  The 10 week trend is below the 30 week line.

Stock Market Update: Bouncy Bounce?

The last 2 weeks we've seen a bounce in the markets, best one in a number of years. The question is? Will it stick or is this a, dare I say it, dead cat bounce?

It's too early to say. The 30 week moving averages have not turned up yet. Be wary.

The government shutdown is not helping matters.

Stock Market Update: January 7 2019

We saw a bounce last week in the markets, but don't let that fool ya, we are still in stage 4.

Everyone  if freaking out over Apple's decline and sales decline forecast. A good article on it by John Murphy can be found over at StockCharts. A look at Apple's aapl chart shows it is in a Stage 4 decline. Personally, I like their products, but think the exorbitant price tag on the latest phone is ridiculous!

Happy New Year!

Stock Market Update: Stage 4 Decline

With the 30 week moving averages now sloping down, and all the indicators in the red, we are officially in Stage 4. Never, ever buy during a stage 4 decline!
