Stock Market and Trade Wars

The on again, off again trade wars heated up last week. As of this morning they are back to off again.With the elections coming up, I don't see any resolution for awhile. We are probably in for a choppy market. All 3 major indexes cut through their 30 week moving average and could be entering into a stage 3 cycle.

Stock Market Update: Geopolitical Fears and Fed Rates

The market edged lower this week amid news of a possible Fed interest rate lowering and a stirring up of geopolitical tension.

A look at our indicators shows all are still above their markers. The Dow might be in stage 1. Keep an eye on events.

Market Update: Trade Truce

The market appears to be in stage 1. Over the weekend, China and the US called a trade truce. 

Bitcoin made a big rebound in May and is not back up over 11,000 after a big swing to 13,000 and another big drop. Facebook wants in on the game and has announced it will offer its own cyrptocurrency, Libra. What could go wrong?





 

Stock Market Update: End of May 2019

The market indicators are moving towards the negative, some are still just above the green line like the S&P and NASDAQ moving averages. It looks like we may be in for another downturn.

Wishing Wealth is pointing out the downturn trending. 

Trade wars which were mainly aimed at China are now also pointing at Mexico. 

CNN's Fear & Greed is firmly in fear.

Stock Market Update: May 4, 2019

All indicators are green and the market is up as of the first week in May.

The NASDAQ hit record highs. The S&P is continuing is push higher, while the DOW was steady or flat.

Stock Market Update: March 2019

As of the end of March, the indicators are looking pretty good and are eking above their 30 week moving averages. 

Some caution should be taken at this point, because we are not yet in a full upward trend. The 30 week moving average is sloping down, we want it to be upward.

CNN's fear and greed  indicator is at neutral.

Stock Market Update: March 1, 2019

It appears we are out of the last correction. All the indicators are above their markers. The CNN Greed and Fear is back in the green zone.

In the news this week, Amazon is going to offer once a week shipping for it's prime members. I'm not sure how this is going to work, I thought one of the perks of being a prime member was the 2 day shipping. Should be interesting.
